Terms of Service

A Traveling Teacher

Last updated: April 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before enrolling in any course or booking any tutoring session with A Traveling Teacher. By completing a purchase or enrollment, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of A Traveling Teacher's services, including group courses and private tutoring sessions, delivered online via Zoom. These terms apply to all users of our services across the United States.

2. Who Can Use Our Services

Our services are open to students of all ages. For students under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete the enrollment or booking and agrees to these terms on the student's behalf. Students who are 18 or older may book directly and are personally responsible for compliance with these terms.

By enrolling, you confirm that all information provided is accurate and that you have the authority to enter into this agreement.

3. Services Provided

A Traveling Teacher provides live, online educational tutoring services via Zoom, including:

  • Group courses: Small group instruction sessions with multiple enrolled students, held on a set schedule.

  • Private tutoring: One-on-one sessions available as individual bookings or pre-purchased packages.

All sessions are conducted virtually. We do not currently offer in-person instruction.

4. Enrollment & Payment

Payment is collected in full at the time of enrollment or booking through our online store. All prices are listed in US dollars.

By completing a purchase you agree to pay the listed price for the selected service. Enrollment in a group course or booking of a private session is confirmed upon receipt of payment. All sales are final in accordance with our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

5. Refunds & Cancellations

All refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. Please review that policy carefully before enrolling. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it.

Payment disputes that fall outside the terms of the refund policy will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are subject to our sole discretion. We are not obligated to issue refunds beyond what is stated in the refund policy.

6. Session Recordings

Notice of Recording: All group course sessions conducted via Zoom are recorded by default. By completing enrollment and accepting these Terms of Service, the enrolling parent or legal guardian expressly consents to the recording of sessions on behalf of themselves and their student.

Purpose of Recordings: Recordings are made for internal purposes only — including quality assurance, instructional review, and dispute resolution. Recordings are retained by A Traveling Teacher Education LLC and are not distributed to enrolled families as a standard practice.

Makeup Sessions: If a student misses a session, A Traveling Teacher Education LLC may, at its sole discretion, share the recording of that specific session privately with the affected family to support continuity of learning. This is not guaranteed and is handled on a case by case basis.

Zoom Recording Notification: Participants will receive an automatic on-screen notification from Zoom when a recording begins. This serves as an in-session disclosure in addition to the consent provided at enrollment.

Minors: For students under the age of 18, the parent or legal guardian completing enrollment provides recording consent on the student's behalf. This consent covers the student's voice and image as captured during live Zoom sessions.

Marketing Use: Recordings of sessions will not be used in any marketing, advertising, or promotional materials without separate, explicit written consent from the parent or legal guardian. If you are asked to provide such consent separately, it is entirely voluntary and not a condition of enrollment.

Private Tutoring: Private tutoring sessions are not recorded unless both the parent and tutor agree in advance.

Retention: Session recordings are retained for a period of 90 days following the conclusion of the course and are then deleted unless otherwise required for an active dispute or legal matter.

7. Course Materials & Intellectual Property

Course materials, lesson plans, worksheets, and other content may be created by A Traveling Teacher, by individual tutors, or both. Each creator retains ownership of the materials they produce. Materials provided to students are licensed for personal educational use only.

Regardless of the source, students and families may not reproduce, distribute, sell, publicly share, or use any course materials for commercial purposes without prior written consent from the respective rights holder. Unauthorized use of materials may result in termination of services.

8. No Guarantee of Academic Outcomes

A Traveling Teacher is committed to delivering high-quality instruction and a supportive learning environment. However, we do not guarantee specific academic results, test scores, grade improvements, or any other particular educational outcome. Student progress depends on many individual factors outside our control, including effort, attendance, and prior knowledge.

9. Student Conduct

All students are expected to engage respectfully and constructively during sessions. Behavior that is disruptive, disrespectful, or harmful to other participants will not be tolerated. A Traveling Teacher reserves the right to remove a student from a session or discontinue services if conduct expectations are not met. Please refer to the applicable Group Class Policy or your service terms for details.

10. Technology & Equipment

Students and families are responsible for ensuring access to a reliable internet connection, a compatible device, and the Zoom application prior to each session. A Traveling Teacher is not responsible for technical difficulties on the student's end that result in a missed or disrupted session. Sessions lost due to student-side technical issues are subject to the standard missed session policy.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, A Traveling Teacher shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim arising under these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

12. Privacy

Your personal information is collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described therein.

13. Modifications to Terms

A Traveling Teacher reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website with a revised date. Continued use of our services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the State of Florida.
