Refund policy

Refund & Cancellation Policy

A Traveling Teacher

Thank you for choosing A Traveling Teacher. Please read the following policies carefully before booking. By completing your enrollment or purchase, you agree to the terms outlined below.

Group Classes

Enrollment & Payment

All group class enrollments are processed through our online store. Payment is collected in full at the time of enrollment. Spots per section are limited and are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Refunds & Cancellations

  • Full refund: A full refund will be issued if a cancellation request is submitted at least 7 days before the first scheduled session.

  • No refund: Cancellations submitted fewer than 7 days before the course start date are not eligible for a refund.

  • Mid-course withdrawal: Once a course has begun, refunds are not available for unused sessions.

Session Cancellations by A Traveling Teacher

In the event that A Traveling Teacher needs to cancel a scheduled group session, enrolled families will be notified as soon as possible. A make-up session will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time. If a make-up session cannot be arranged, a credit toward a future course will be issued instead.

Attendance & Missed Sessions

Attendance is strongly encouraged, as each session builds on the previous one. If your student is unable to attend a session, a recording will be shared with enrolled students within 24 hours of the class. Make-up sessions are not available for student absences.

Session Recordings

All group sessions are recorded for the benefit of enrolled students. Recordings are shared privately with enrolled families only and are not distributed publicly. Recordings are intended as a review resource and should not be shared outside of the enrolled household.

Student Conduct

A Traveling Teacher is committed to maintaining a focused, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. The following conduct expectations apply to all group class participants:

  • Students are expected to join sessions on time, prepared, and ready to participate.

  • Disruptive behavior that interferes with the learning of other students will not be tolerated.

  • In the event of a conduct concern, the parent or guardian will be contacted and one formal warning will be issued.

  • If disruptive behavior continues following a warning, the student may be removed from the course. No refund will be issued in this case.

Technology Requirements

Group classes are held live via Zoom. Enrolled families are responsible for ensuring access to a reliable internet connection, a device with a working camera and microphone, and the Zoom application prior to the first session. A Zoom link will be provided before the first class.

Class Size & Format

All group classes are limited to a small number of students per section to ensure a high-quality, interactive experience. Enrollment caps vary by course and are listed on each course page. Sessions are held once per week and course materials will be provided digitally before the first session.

Private Tutoring

Booking & Payment

Private tutoring is available as individual sessions billed per session, or as pre-purchased session packages. Payment is collected at the time of booking. Package sessions never expire and may be used for any student within the immediate family.

Refunds & Cancellations

  • Full refund: A full refund will be issued for any individual session cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time.

  • No refund: Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are not eligible for a refund.

  • Package bookings: Session packages are non-refundable. Packages are priced at a discount in exchange for the upfront commitment — unused sessions never expire and can be used for any student in the immediate family at any time.

Rescheduling & Missed Sessions

  • Sessions may be rescheduled at no charge with at least 24 hours notice prior to the scheduled start time.

  • Sessions missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are forfeited — no refund, recording, or make-up will be provided.

  • If a tutor needs to cancel a session, the parent will not be charged for that session.

Student Conduct

The same conduct expectations that apply to group classes apply to private tutoring. Students are expected to arrive on time and be prepared for each session. A Traveling Teacher reserves the right to discontinue services if conduct expectations are not met. In such cases, a refund for unused sessions will be issued.

Technology Requirements

Private tutoring sessions are conducted live via Zoom. Students are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection and a functioning device with camera and microphone prior to each session.
